During The Beatles Red Rocks, Colorado Amphitheater appearance in August 1964 the band members became light-headed and out of breath due to the very thin Denver air! Oxygen canisters were brought onstage to solve the problem. In addition, the Reds Rocks concert was the only venue that was NOT sold out during that historic 1964 U.S. tour. Two thousand seats remained vacant of the total of nine thousand available! |

Supposedly, there were many death threats called in. George Martin, Brian Epstein and of course, The Beatles were very concerned. Because of the setting with the high rocky over-looks security was paramount. Especially, so soon after the assassination of President Kennedy! |

By August of 1964 The Beatles were the biggest thing going (culturally) in America. With that overwhelming popularity came the expected bitterness and jealousy. And for some those feelings manifest themselves in ugly threats against the group. Thankfully, no one followed up on them, until 1980. |
