Academy Records in NY (there are 2 or 3, the one you probably want is the Brooklyn store) and Princeton Record Exchange (in Princeton, NJ).

These are two of the bigger stores in the northeast US, you'll probably find numerous copies of the US records.

I live in Philadelphia, but unfortunately I cannot recommend anything around here that is worth a detour.

The sad fact is that record stores are dying in the US, and the ones that exist have usually been picked pretty clean.
