Include anything among albums, 45s and EPs. Things you might never have but who knows.... One example releated to me? Mmmhhh....some time ago I would have thought: "I'll never own a U.S. copy of Revolver with the yellow sticker"....in the end we all know how it ended. |

Seriously, TIFF? Writing out this list will only crush my spirit, but here goes. Ifield portrait cover Ad back stereo Blank back stereo Songs, Pictures & Stories (stereo with concert banner) Barbados Let It Be Musart Vol. 5 (stereo) Ecuador Vol. 2 Ecuador Vol. 3 Ecuador Rubber Soul Bolivia Help Bolivia Please Please Me Bolivia Rubber Soul Egypt Abbey Road Ex Libris PPM Ex Libris WTB Ex Libris Rubber Soul with horizontal "obi" B&Y White Album B&Y Abbey Road Odeon Yellow Submarine B&G PPM Norway AHDN Denmark old style black & silver Help Thailand Revolver Meet The Beatles with original half-obi Second Album with original half-obi AHDN with original half-obi I'm sure there are plenty of others that I won't ever own, but am not prepared to write off. Some are super rare but not well-known. For example, the Dominican LPs. With these LPs, the biggest challenge is finding it, but once you find it you have a decent shot at owning it. There are others that are quite rare, but not impossibly so, and they are so high on my want list that I suspect I'll eventually extend enough to get them. Here, I include the champagne cover Rubber Soul, German mono Something New, Nigerian Sgt. Pepper, and Socorro (Ecuador). And of course, I suspect a handful on my "impossible" list will eventually find their way into my possession. |

That'll be the Australian AUDIO-5 Sgt Pepper LP. But on the other hand, I thought the same for the USA UHQR Sgt Pepper but was able to buy that one for an excellent price last August. The Argentinian 78 rpm by Los Grillos is also pretty much impossible. Socorro, are you confusing the Barbados Abbey Road with the DR Let it be ? And how did you get my wants list ? |

Dutch "No Reply" single with solid center. One copy known to exist (I've held it in my hands!). Probably 99,9% of the Beatles collectors wouldn't pay one quid for it..... And of course, the above, plus Apple 8 & Delaney/Bonnie. And a few thousand other items........ |

Servi, Yes, I am confusing the DR Let It Be and the Barbados Abbey Road. Currently, there are about 200 LPs on my want list, not counting lots of variations. I estimate that if I remain an active collector over the long term, I might ultimately own 150 of them (plus lots more that I encounter along the way). The ones on my list are the longest of the long shots because they are all painfully scarce, but sufficiently well-known and sought-after that even if a copy surfaces it will draw a lot of deep-pocketed attention. I saw that in action last spring when a copy of the Egyptian Abbey Road was listed for the first time in several years. I bid the most I ever have for an LP, and wasn't even in the same universe as the winning bid ($1,036). I did have the pleasure of being the high bidder for about 3 seconds, though, so that's something. On the other hand, although I lost out on the Nigerian LPs yesterday, I was close enough that I suspect I will eventually have one or both. With 45s, there is a very good chance that I will only own random items that I especially like and can get for a bargain. There are a ton of awesome singles and EP from around the world, but the only way I foresee collecting them in a serious way is if I hit the wall with my LP collection and I still feel like spending the money and time. I especially like the picture sleeves for the Norway singles and the France EPs. If I ever get into 45, I suspect the gateway drug will be the Bolivia EPs. There are few enough of them, they are really cool, and they are easier to find than the Bolivia LPs. That said, they certainly aren't cheap. A really nice one went for $405 on ebay this week, and that is a pretty typical price. As for 78s, I will almost certainly never own the Argentina promo or the Colombian promo or regular 78, and these are the ones I most covet. I suspect that at some point, I will find a 78 from India or the Philippines, but as a general proposition I will never seriously collect the Beatles 78s. |

Talking about Bolivian EPs, found this last weekend, unfortunately it has the wrong EP inside, but for the price I paid I couldn't complain: Posted Image |

Nice, Ed! True, the disc and sleeve don't match but they're both the real deal. I especially like this label style, which is like no other I've seen. More distinctive than the B&Y Parlophone labels you find on some Bolivian 45s, although Parlophone was not nearly as common in South America as Odeon. |

Ed, maybe you can phone Eddy and ask him why there are 2 different versions. His telephone number is on the back cover ;) Coomans' website gives a value of 600 euro !! |

I'll keep an eye out at the fairs if you like - I picked mine up last year in NM condition for a whopping AU$180!! And it included a clipping from the related HiFi magazine of an interview with the EMI dude responsible for the series. |

The red/pink vinyl Sgt Pepper has the same mastering if you just want the sound rather than the label. |

Thanks Jae, would appreciate that a lot !! AU$180 is an absolute bargain for this one. Yes, Easy-E, I have the red vinyl (with single cover and gatefold cover). |
