I have just looked at all the posts and can't see if this has been asked before, so here goes.

Does anyone know why a 1969 copy - without SOIUK - of HG has never surfaced seeing as there are copies of all the others going back to Help!

I do not know for sure that there are not, however it maybe that 69-72 copies used old labels still with the SIUK text. I have a 72 copy of Lady Madonna with the SIUK text yet it's clearly a 72 as it has the polo rings and knife edge .

Nothing is ever straight forward I'm afraid....

I suppose it's a similar thing to the Help! single having a Parlophone rim. Like it's been said before, because of their popularity and the hundreds of thousands they sold, there was never any regulation. So anything is possible.

In relation to that, does anyone know which singles were deleted from the EMI catalogue in the 60s?

Somebody does, I remember somebody posting an EMI cat showing the singles that still could be ordered....

Thanks I found that. Unfortunately the scans have been removed. However your text under the last entry appears to answer my original question in that HG had incredibly been deleted by May 1969.

It's still on my list though. As are some of the others!
