baring in mind this whole project was a disaster at the time record wise, and I think the Naked version whilst welcome was also an opportunity missed too , what would you have done with it ??

George Martin despite his anger and disapointment than John and George stole the tapes and gave them to Phil Spector had clearly long given up on it and delegated it to Glyn Johns I think, only for Spector to then totally ruined the whole basis of the project so what would you have done, indeed what would Jesus do ( no we know that in the guise of JWL he gave it to spector so skip that )

With the benefit of hindsight I would have seperated the songs that were on the roof and put them on one side with the snippets of the roof conversations and made side two a quasi live LP ( a bit like Thin Lizzy a live album with help from the studio since the apple studio recordings are barely distinguishable from the roof but John doesn't forget the words to Dont let me Down lol )

So for a bit of fun this is what I would have done...all tracks would of course be immediately pre-spectored !!

Side one IN THE STUDIO

1) Two of us ( including charles Hawtry )

2) Dig it ( long or short, not sure but would keep into into all the angles come...)

....3) Let it Be ( film version " there will be no sorrow " )

4) I me mine ( from naked )

5) Across the Universe ( again Naked Version )

6) For you Blue

7) Long and Winding Road ( naked again )

8 ) Maggie Mae ( optional either way in or out )

Side two.. " LIVE " FROM THE ROOF.the " Live Album " with out takes from the roof linking the tracks

1) possibly a full version of Get Back ( OPTIONAL )

2) I got a Feeling

3) one after 909

4) Dig a pony ( with the All I want is restored )

5) Dont let me Down

6) Get Back reprise ( from the LP with audition ending )

Problem solved !!! As for the artwork, well I like the John Kosh artwork but as I would have released the LP in the summer of 69 I'd have to go for the Get back artwork...although I'm not sure the side two for this was ever completed ??

THIS IS A NEW PHASE BEATLES ALBUM,...ESSENTIAL TO THE CONTEXT OF A FORTHCOMMING FILM WAS THAT THEY PREFORMED WITHOUT OVERDUBS LIVE IN THE STUDIO AND LIVE FROM THE ROOF OF APPLE IN SAVILLE ROW COMES THE FRESHNESS OF A LIVE PREFORMANCE

PRODUCED BY GEORGE MARTIN, AND NOT OVER PRODUCED BY PHIL SPECTOR !!

Job done but I was only 9, how could I know.........

What I would have done with the Let It Be project is put it to one side, forget about the thing and then make a more 'progressive' rock album.

First and foremost (no pun intended!) would be to record the new album with George Martin again as producer, a formula that had worked well in the past.

Then I would look to name that album as a sort of apology to him, a doff of the hat to all the support he gave us during our recording career.

If the album proved to be one of the best albums ever, then call it a day.

To forfill a contract with United Artists for a final film and album I would release the rehearsals for Let It Be as a film and clean up the tracks for the album by a well known producer other than George Martin, whom by this time had washed his hands with Let It Be, say Phil Spector for instance, for a later release as not to interfere with the sales of the new George Martin produced album.

The Let It Be album we think, should only be availiable in the UK by mail order as a box set, with a book, so you can appreciate why it's not the best album musically, we have made.

Then, in 2003 (34 years later) after much deliberation we will release a re-mixed cut of the original recordings of Let It Be, using 21st century technology calling it Let It Be Naked, generating good sales and also showing our dissaproval to Phil Spectors efforts on the original.

Simples!

Bit of fun here, tounge in cheek! :)
