Apologies for this thread - it's nothing to do with collecting. Feel free to ignore and it will die a natural death... :D

Aaaanyway - I've often thought about John Lennon's comment at the time the Beatles broke up - something along the lines of "Instead of a group of 4, you now have 4 individuals releasing records - so if you really want a new 'Beatles' LP, just take one track from my LP, one from Paul's etc..."

So that's what I've done - no hard and fast rules, but I felt that I needed some boundaries, so I've decided on the following:
  • (1) Ignore the earlier 'experimental' solo efforts while the group was still properly together
    (2) Start the compilation with the 'McCartney' LP (neatly avoiding Sentimental Journey..).
    (3) Avoid including singles (as they'd be released as singles anyway).
    (4) 'Release' one new Beatles LP per calendar year from 1970 to 1975 (when John hung up his boots, so to speak).
    (5) Fourteen tracks per LP - four each from John, Paul and George; two from Ringo.
So, for 1970, how about the following:

Side 1
Maybe I’m Amazed – Paul
Wah-Wah – George
Beaucoup of Blues – Ringo
Man We Was Lonely - Paul
I Found Out – John
I Dig Love – George
Mother – John

Side 2
Working Class Hero – John
Teddy Boy – Paul
Beware Of Darkness – George
Love – John
Wine, Women and Loud, Happy Songs – Ringo
Junk – Paul
All Things Must Pass – George

(I really wanted to include 'God', but couldn't reconcile the "I don't believe in Beatles!" line

Feel free to add your own, change the running order, ignore completely etc.

Wow, (except for Teddy boy) that is a truly great album, where can I buy that one ?? ;)
Instant Karma may replace I found out IMO (to avoid the line " I've seen religion from Jesus to Paul").

Instant Karma – John
Isn't It A Pity – George
Mother – John

I'd Have You Anytime – George
Love – John
Apple Scruffs – George
Kreen-Akrore – Paul

The 1971 LP is dominated by John and Paul, with neither Ringo nor George (who had emptied his war chest with last year's triple ATMP) releasing an LP. So I've had to relax my 'no singles' rule for these two.

Anyway, my 1971 Beatles LP:

Side 1
Give Me Some Truth - John
Heart of the Country - Paul
Bangla Desh - George
Love is Strange - Paul
Jealous Guy - John
It Don't Come Easy - Ringo
Imagine - John

Side 2
Early 1970 - Ringo
Monkberry Moon Delight - Paul
Deep Blue - George
I Don't Want to be a Soldier - John
Uncle Albert - Paul
Oh My Love - John
The Back Seat of my Car - Paul

And so onto 1972. No LPs for Ringo & Paul and only the "Concert for..." from George, so this is going to be the year that the 'new Beatles' only released an EP...

Side 1
Back Off Boogaloo - Ringo
C Moon - Paul

Side 2
My Sweet Lord (live) - George
John Sinclair - John

I am going to keep this up you know

Anyway, after 1972's quiet year, the boys were back in town in 1973, with LP releases by all four (and, strangely, two from The Beatles...).

My 1973 LP then:

Side 1
Big Barn Bed - Paul
Mind Games - John
Photograph - Ringo
Don't Let Me Wait Too Long - George
My Love - Paul
Tight A$$ - John
Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth) - George

Side 2
I'm The Greatest - Ringo
Bring on The Lucie (Freeda People) - John
One More Kiss - Paul
Sunshine Life For Me - Ringo
Little Lamb Dragonfly - Paul
Out The Blue - John
Living In The Material World - George

Dark Horse - George
No-no Song - Ringo
Nobody Loves You (When You're Down and Out) - John

Side 2
Hari's On Tour (Express) - George
Going Down on Love - John
Bluebird - Paul
What You Got - John

Nice one ;)

And finally, my last entry in this rather pointless exercise, timed to coincide with Dr Winston O'Boogie's semi-retirement - my 1975 LP:

Side 1
I Saw Her Standing There - John (with Elton John)
Venus And Mars - Paul
Rock Show - Paul
You - George
Oo-Wee - Ringo
Sweet Little Sixteen - John
Can't Stop Thinking About You - George

Side 2
Peggy Sue - John
Tired of Midnight Blue - George
Medicine Jar - Paul (I know it wasn't Paul, but it was his album)
This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying) - George
Snookeroo - Ringo
Listen to What The Man Said - Paul
Stand By Me - John

(nothing new from Ringo in '75)

And that's it! Thank you for tolerating this.

Now I'm off to burn those onto a CD for the car and find out what the 'after the break-up' Beatle LPs were really like! :)
