Did anybody attend the " Beatles Day " near Holborn/Russell square on Sunday ?

I popped in to see what records they had on sale but I unexpectedly was able to meet one of the guests Victor Spinetti who was on fine form considereing he must be pushing 80. Had I known he was there I would have taken one of my MMT's for him to sign rather than one of the photos.

Hunter Davis was also spotted and another guest sheduled was Tony Barmwell.

I didn't stay long as I only intended to pop my head around the corner, the next one is scheduled at the Park Inn Southampton Row on 18th July for any of you other London based members who are interested....

Hi,

No I didn’t, is that the one held in a Hotel, ‘Boddingtons’ or something ?.

I like V Spinetti, he has some incredible stories to tell of his memories of Beatlemania.

I sometimes go to the Kensington Olympia in London, thats a very good record Fayre, I saw the tv and radio broadcaster Mark Lamarr there last time, he was listening to some old R n B singles.

What I would recommend is the Annual International Beatle convention held up in Liverpool, that is brilliant, loads of old vinyl for sale, loads of Beatle tribute bands from all round the world, but beware, its VERY loud, the music on stage.
I met up with a guy there I used to know, he was in the music business, he introduced me to Allen Williams, the Beatles first manager, we had a long chat about publishing etc !, and there was an opportunity to met B J Kramer, but I dont think he turned up !

lol. the first Beatles convention ( and maybe the only one ) I ever went to at Ally Pally in 1976 featured Allen Williams !!

Yes last sunday was at the Park Inn, too small to be called a convention though. I've heard Victor Spinetti on the radio many times and he is a great raconteur, loved John he did boyo...

I went to the last fayre at Olympia, got some nice bits an bobs but the star 4 me was a near minter y/b stereo Pepper which I got for G 30.....

I usually go to Spitalfields record market every 1st and 3rd Friday in the month, see you there next week Will !

Hi,

His a nice guy A Williams, last time I went to ‘Ally Pally’ was to a classic car show.

I remember V Spinetti telling an amazing storey when the Beatles toured Austria, when on a balcony J Lennon held his comb to his top lip and did ‘cod’ Hitler speeches !!, amazing !.

I haven’t been to the last 2 Olympias, but last time I got a nice red apple Let it Be, for £5 !!!, the audio was brilliant, I sold it for £50 !, as I already have a near minter copy !

So without looking in the RC magazine, where is this ‘Spitalfields’ record market ‘H’,…… London, Essex ? ….. ok, I may go up there.

Aldgate East is the nearest tube but it's not far from Liverpool Street either
