Uppercase rim text; Sans Serif font on the publishing info; matrix number in parentheses, separated by a dot; MKT tax notice in the centre; small song titles.

Here's a Decca (?) contract press - presumably there are other Decca versions with all of the 60s label variations shown above?

(or is this another of the unknown contract presses, described at the bottom of the Forum site page?)

This isn't a label variation, but an interesting Factory Sample - it has an 'A' sticker on the A side, with the Factory Sample sticker on the second side. Just about visible when you hold it up to the light, stamped on the label, is '16 AUG 1963' (a week before the release date).

I used to think that this may be a fake, but there's just been another, almost identical, item on ebaY; She Loves You again.

The stamper codes are quite unexciting - 5 OR & 1 RA

Edit - you can just see the '16' stamped above & to the right of 'YOU'..

I take it these are all the known Parlophone She Loves You labels?

Very helpful.

I was wondering if the sans serif Northern Songs, with MKT center, and small title font was a first pressing?

Thanks,

Jim Key

Hi Jim -

Yes, the goal of these threads is to find out what label variations exist (hopefully the mods will -one day- be able to put all the info and scans in the Labelographies Sections, nudge nudge wink wink).

I couldn't tell what the first pressing is, there are experts on this forum who might be able to tell....
And, by the way, welcome!

Cheers -
Ed
