Take a look at this pic, intestingly the sleeves used in this 1963 promotion seem to be stereo ones rather than the much more common Mono's that you might expect.

I'm sure they were probably junked afterward, makes you cry at the thought eh!

They may all have been dummys; mock-ups, like the large one that runs behind Ringo, George M. and John. Oddly, that large one is reminiscent of the late '69/early '70 stereo issues; there's no 'stereo' printed at top-right!
Was that picture taken to celebrate 'gold' sales of the single PPM? If so, it may even have been before the release of the LP!
Cheers,
Steve.

The picture was taken on April 5th 1963 to celebrate 250,000 sales (silver disc) of the Please Please Me 45. The Stereo Album was released on April 26th 1963 - well spotted.
Incidentely the Mono album was released just before on March 22nd.

I agree and I also thought that from the size of the LP's behind the boys they are probably mock ups. However the ones to the left near Paul look much more like the real thing.

Either way interesting they should use Stereo sleeves or even stereo mock ups 3 weeks before the stereo version was even released!!

Curious and couriouser!!
