I wanted to just add this on to the other posts but felt it was off topic. I noticed the other post about the sets and I wanted to just add to that. While going thru the stereo box set and listening to the cd's and watching the dvd it was really like rediscovering The Beatles again. An added dimension to the group I haven't really paid attention to or noticed but was there all the time. I have all the first released cd's but maybe its the packaging that help and/or just the difference in sound.
As I started with Please Please Me I began to take notice of this release to the first Capitol release. Up until Sgt. Pepper album where the issues were the same as far as tracks go. And how they were heard in the UK verses what we were getting as releases thru Capitol and appreciating it. The number of songs they were accomplishing and the talent that they were showing in just one album verses this stretched out number of albums we had. Just their Genius in all and Sir george Martin. While I am waiting for the mono set the stereo set sure has done justice to them.
I am not getting down on Capitol but from a mini lp cd fanatic perspective it would be nice to see Capitol issue a couple box sets with this much craft and style. Not the stereo and mono sets like these or the half attempt with the Volumes 1 & 2 but a first set with all their releases from Meet the Beatles until Let It Be and then the other set starting with Hey Jude/The Beatles Again lp toLet It Be... Naked. And both at once like EMI has done. Slim Chance I know but nothing will top The Stereo and The Mono Sets from this point.
