It was announced, what back in late April, early May, The Beatles Remasters of all the UK cd's. I COULD NOT WAIT!!! Just that little tease of pics on The Beatles.com brought back the anticipation of a New Beatles release of so many years ago. And to own a copy of The Beatles For Sale. I first saw it in a store here in the US but Capitol had just released a new album by them so it was a choice with what you were familiar with and cost. (Had I only known, I was 10) The picture used for the cover is incredible. Anyway, as time went by the pictures of the complete sets were starting to show up. They look really cool. We had the Capitol Albums Vol. 1 & 2 but it stopped. Then rumors of what Vol 3 might or should contain started showing up on sites. Then blogs of what this person has to do with it and that person has to do with it. This album should be included but not that album because of label. Yadda,Yadda,Yadda. Dispite it all No Vol.3 in which I would have to actually hesitate in buying because all the US releases should be released in that format. I don't want to pick and choose with The Beatles albums. Their ALL great to me. A FAN simple as that. But to have both of the new remasters coming out in a complete box set and a mini lp cd fanatic as it is. I can't put it into words. QUALITY much less QUANTITY is not a virtue with releases here. The afore mentioned is evidence of that. Then Pre-Orders began being taken. I thought I would budget it out on the 1st of September and have my order in. SOLD OUT. What a bummer to the end of summer. The Mono Sets are unavailable. Unbelievable. My budget allows what it allows but dam. What was I saying about quantity here. LOL How can you be upset. It's THE BEATLES!!! So it will be Hello to the Sharks to get a new copy. How much am I going to be bitten for? Update. Amazon Canada sold out. Last hope Amazon UK. The 1st is still a long way away. I can see the Sharks circling. |

Well just did a price conversion on price at Amazon UK. GBP to USD Wow. 326.24. About a hundred less here. Well I guess that does that. A brief moment of saddness is overshadowed by the happiness that the fact it is sold out around here means The Beatles are still Forever. |

Not that I bought it by the way. IMO this is not what we need. I rather spend my money on vinyl. But on the other hand, maybe if I hear the remixes I will be convinced, who knows.... |

I should have named this A Day in the Life (of a fan) lol. It's the eve of the 1st. All day long checking Amazon UK to see if it is still being advertised. Waiting for a response from them. I have to get some visa debit cards exchange for Amazon gift cards then pre-order. They may not let me use the gift things with pre-orders. Will cross that bridge when I get to it. So the anticipation increases with each minute. I know all this sounds childish and naive but the Thrill of it All. It's The Beatles. I have read some of the reviews, I don't care lol. All I have to do is just remember we have The Capitol Albums Vol. 1 & 2 and these new box sets become a down right necessity. (The American version of Help was a gatefold album and in the Vol. 2 release it wasn't. To get a gatefold replica you have to buy the Japanese release 3 times the price). Thanks to those for the other links. It's going to be a long nite. :D |

Well the price was a little to steep with the currency cinverter so will have to wait to see if a new supply will get shipped. Highly Doubt it but had fun trying. |

I GOT 'EM. Can't believe it. Lost all hope. Then this morning Amazon here sent e mail stating they had more. I can't believe it. The Stereo Box Set arrived already but the Mono was what I was wanting. The UK Amazon had them but it was about 125.00 USD more than here. Of course had to sacrifice a couple things. On a fixed income. (I have cancer and not a pity me mention at all. Hundreds of thousands of us are fighting it so I am not alone.) .. So I am thrilled. Now onward to The Beatles Trivia Persuit next month. LOL THE BEATLES ARE FOREVER!!!! :D |

Hi Jernmik, I'm chuffed (really pleased: Northern English expression!) to hear that you got the stereo set today, and that your mono set is on it's way:) I picked up a copy of the stereo box today, and having dipped-in all over, it's fabulous! You'll love it! The remastering isn't just subtle differences; it's remarkable! We're probably hearing it now, in better fidelity, than they did when mixing the master tapes for the final LP releases!!! Please tell..... what label designs are the US versions using? Are they the 'proper' Parlophone labels, or Capitol style? Our UK release even has Please Please Me with the original black & gold style! And Magical Mystery Tour is using a copy of the old rainbow Capitol label! All wonderfull stuff! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am :) :) Steve. |

I'm really glad you're enjoying this set the same as I am! I too wil be up for a while; just about to give Abbey Road a listen! You'd just never believe that some of this music was first recorded almost 50 years ago...it just shows what a brilliant job George Martin did back then.... :) Steve. |

Hi All, Amazon is tantalising me too! They haven't turned up yet, so I suppose I will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm glad to hear that they are not disappointing anyone so far! :) :) :) |

Yes it's arrived and I am working my way through. I need to get to Help before I can tell the difference between the stereo's but so far it's been impressive. I also was pleased to find that there was more than I expected with extra sleeve notes and a bonus DVD which was slightly a let down as BBC had shown a version of the DVD at the weekend, I had no idea that it was the same so when I played the DVD it was a bit of a let down but thats not really the fault of the package. Of course I would have loved every LP to have had an " alternate " version alongside with different mixes from anthonolgy and elsewhere but hey ho I know that will never happen !! Oh and it brakes my heart everytime I have to break open the shrinkwrapping as I go through each CD lol !! |

I was feeling the same way about shrink wrap muffmasterh lol. I carefully opened them so I could put it back on when done. I have them out just reading liner notes and looking at them. Its like The Beatles Story on Apple here. Its a gatefold album but it has never been out of the shrink wrap to open up. :P |
