Good Singles Storage In Ikea

Heya, I was in IKEA the other day and came across the range of boxes called "Trissa":

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40101276

I picked up a couple of them on the offchance they'd be good for some 7" singles and actually they're pretty decent. I've got about 100 in each one which gives some space for flipping. I swear IKEA have made these for singles as they're pretty much perfect size all round! Only problem is they have no lids so dust might be a problem but, I don't know about you, I have them all in plastic wallets anyway so dust won't really get to the disc...

It's meant I can replace some of my old 70s singles boxes which are just... well, of varying quality and some dubious colour schemes! Anyone else found any good storage for singles and EP's?

Pacey

funnily enough Andy, I've been using wicker ones from.....IKEA!

Very stylish and fit perfectly but I'm not sure that they still do them in 7" single size anymore ;-(

Hah! Was it something like this one? http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90119170
Can't see anything else... I don't need more of these boxes at the moment but I'm wondering whether to pick up another one or two in preparation for the bootsale season beginning again soon :D I have a feeling singles and EPs might be where I head this year!

A company here in the States, Bags Unlimited, makes and distributes many different products for the storage of collectables. They make a box for 7" records that hold over 200 of them with a bit of shuffle room with a nice lid. I've kept four of them, full of records, stacked on each other for years and they've held up very well. In addition, Bags has the clear, Japanese outer pockets with the adhesive seals, which I prefer to the heavy vinyl ones, primarily for the reduced weight and the chemically neutral nature of them.

I'll have a look at that Robyn cheers,

this is similar to what I already got years ago from ikea, but it doesn't look like they still do the exact ones I have, my ones were a perfect fit for singles, this is a bit bigger I think but it gives you an idea what mine look like!

Oh yeah maybe a little small - very attractive though.
I've heard a lot about all these types of sleeve you guys have in America - mylar, poly., poly- something or other's. Is there really a difference with these ones? I can't say I've ever seen any over here, we just tend to get the really thick ones or the normal polypropelene ones..

Pacey; Drop me your mailing address and I'll send one over for your perusal. I've kept my LPs and singles in them for nearly 20 years and they seem to resist yellowing much better than the heavy ones.

Ahh there's no need to send one RR, postage costs across the pond aren't worth it at the mo!
As I'm a younger collector, the oldest 'new' poly wallets I have are only maybe 8 years old or so, so I can't say whether they'll stand the test of time. Although the heavy ones I have are all pretty nasty and don't look that nice. Some of these are up to 30 years old so I suppose it's to be expected.. I should throw them but I'd feel guilty :D I sometimes use the better thick ones of the bunch when posting rarer LPs in case of water damage, so someone else can decide what to do with them!
