Repairing Flipbacks; Any tips or advice?

I have a number of records where the flipbacks are in various states of disrepair. Does anybody have any words of advice on how to go about fixing these?
It seems to me that external ones will be easier to deal with than internal ones. Are there particular types of glue to use, or methodologies to follow?

Any help will be very gratefully receved.

It depends really. Since, originally, the flipbacks were just glued down then I can't see much in the way of ethics if you glue it back together again. Hell, it's what they would have done in the 70's - better than using that sticky tape to do it!

Both internal and external flipbacks are relatively easy to do. If you want to go down the glue route then a thin smear of Pritt Stick has always worked for me. Just get the flipback itself lightly coated and then push it into place with no side movements or anything. The sleeve needs to stay flat. When it's stuck you can put something heavy on top to keep it in place as it dries. Once it's done it looks great.

Or, if you're in a hurry, I've heard of people using double-sided sticky-tape to do the job. However, if the flipbacks are thin then the indentation may show through.

Internal flipbacks - just use Pritt Stick again and then gently drop the upper part of the cover onto them so that there's no misalignment. Just push down, keep something heavy on it as it dries and all is sorted.
