RP Basics RPG and RP - What does it stand for? RPG stands for 'role playing game', while RP stands for, 'role play' or 'role playing'. What is Role playing? Role playing is a game and altogether fun. What you do is set up some sort of plot - through a post, in a new topic - and pretend to be a character. Other people will add on to your post and it will become a story, look at it as a fan fiction - except has been written by several different people. What are 'made-ups'? Characters that are made up are mostly used among the world of RPG. Although, at some sites, they may only allow you to create Canon characters. You can ask the site in question to define the information. Difference Between Normal Role play and Advanced Role play Normal Role Play: Normal role play is more for members who have just started playing or who don't want to go too much in depth with their role play. It allows more of the basic RP skills and is the most popular out of the two. Advanced Role Play: More experienced members who wish to go more in depth with their role plays use 'advanced role play'. This creates more of a feel in their role play, producing a more advanced, detailed, dramatic and greater role play. Punctuation, Spelling and Grammar As an RPG site, we fully support proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Points to consider while role playing includes the following. Capitalisation Please keep capital letters at the appropriate places and parts of words, such as on the beginning word of a new sentence, places, names and other proper nouns. Spelling Please do your best with spelling as it is much simpler reading the correct spelling, rather than having to decipher spelling errors. Though, we do understand that English may be your second language and this may be difficult, but - at least - try your best to keep spelling errors out, through the use of a dictionary or http://dictionary.reference.com/. Full Stops and Commas It's always easier to understand someone's role playing when full stops and commas are used and especially in the right places, such as at the end of a sentence, in lists, etc... Paragraphing This is an important aspect as it would be much easier in reading writing spaced out, rather than having it as a large chunk of information. Please do your best to keep up the paragraphs! Now, the MOST important thing! REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN!!
