Clarice is Back!

She creeps me out but I guess we have to deal with her.

AND she's crazier than ever.

There've been a few times when they've talked about killing her off - and decided she'd be more trouble dead than alive. But I'm a little confused about that, since she's actually NOT all that well known outside the program, unless and until she manages to complete one of her mass-murder ploys. So how, exactly, would she really become more dangerous?

It seems to me that the longer they let her live, the MORE dangerous she becomes - alive OR dead.

Changing the subject slightly - I've just finished re-reading (again) the little scenes between Mare and General Jennings http://www.agirlandherfed.com/1.1056.html , with Clarice playing evil Emeril in the background. The concluding page for that sequence still bewilders me. I had assumed that the General was telling Mare that his wife had left him, so it was only tonight that I realized that it was CLARICE who had disappeared, muffins and all. ( http://www.agirlandherfed.com/1.1205.html )

Which made the appearance of the muffins on his kitchen counter a bit worrisome. Also, Mare misjudged him - he DOES do his own shopping! :)

So - is that scene of his refilled cabinets supposed to be telling us something important? Or did she doodle-whack his memory earlier in the day or something?
