After finishing Digital Divide, I decided to re-read the entire strip again from the beginning. And I noticed something in the redrawn pages at the beginning of the archive. For the first 60 or so pages, whenever they are "talking", their mouths are closed. So I am wondering if this was a deliberate stylistic thing that changed later on, if it was just the furthering evolution of the quality of the art (and there is a big improvement over the first 40 or 50 pages when the style really locks in), or some other reason. |
