Ok, seriously, what happened between him and George?

I thought it was mostly already portrayed - George hates Pat with a pure and fiery passion, and their personalities bounce off each other such that neither can get past it. But certainly there could be some further history we don't know.

Yeah, but that's the thing I don't get. Why does George hate him like that? I'm willing to bet that Pat would have been amazingly conciliatory during their first meeting, regardless of Washington's feelings so, you'd think they could have gotten past it then. Also, if that's Washington on the left there, they seem to be fairly amicable at that point.

So, it feels like there had to be some event that provoked this thing.

Except for those times when they try to bounce tables off each other....

Could be an event, I admit. But I can imagine Washington looking at Pat. A man who, just on the basis of a short career in government in which he appeared bright and capable, was picked for the Program and turned into a superhero -- by someone else. It put him through a personal hell, true, but he didn't pull himself out of it, someone else did that too - Ben Franklin, who used his own ghostly powers to silence the Bitty Bush, and practically played matchmaker between him and a rich, compatible woman who could handle the emotional side of his recovery. He drives around a bit, consults the genetic superintellect he happens to be friends with, makes a few calls, busts a few heads, and bam, he's given control of the Program and cartloads of prime blackmail material against his enemies.

I can see why someone who rallied revolutionaries, led an army, and suffered through years of battles and winters might think of Pat as an overgrown child who never earned the immense power he has.

I'm pretty sure Washington does not appear in that comic; Washington would be the last delegate in the Constitutional Convention one would ask about the intent behind it, since he presided but otherwise barely participated. Madison, maybe? Hard to say.

Well, certainly Pat and George seem to get on like fire and gasoline, but Pat didn't actually *demand* George show up. Perhaps the locals relayed "tell Washington I want to see him" somewhat... brusquely?

And by the way, I think the mottled lighting effect is very well done!

I'm more interested in 2 other points.

  • Are they still in Australia? As in, is George in Australia?
  • How did Pat "summon" George? Did he just ask Ben to set it up or something funkier?

Yikes! I had missed a day. No wonder I was confused (but that is a regular state for me).

I missed seeing comic for 24 December 2012 before the Holiday Filler page was up.

So am I the only one getting "Washington is one of the rogues" vibes?

Just putting this here as I'd feel silly if I turned out to be right without having called it.
