But Otter has a life to lead and no extra "make a cool comic" chip in her head to help.

Maybe (no pun intended) the bees will form up into the shape of something like so:

Nope.

Game Over man, Game Over.
It takes an average of forty-three muscles to frown, seventeen muscles to smile...

But only three for proper trigger squeeze.

Si vis pacem, para bellum.

So I'm probably over-analysing, but the way the bees remain fairly regularly arranged through the fight leads me to conclude that the "swarm" is essentially a net or mesh being deformed when it moves or covers an object.

(Or, more likely, Otter is just using the regularity as an artistic effect to make it obvious that this involves instructions sent to a computer chip and emphasize the technical challenge of rendering complex objects! :-) )

I'm confused. It certainly looks like Lottie won the duel, with the BSL (Big Stompy Lizard) bursting into flames and Pat screaming 'nooo' and all, but then she congratulates him on the win. Help?

Pat threw the fight for Avery, but since the actual competition is based on production value, they privately agree Pat won with his bees.

Ah, thank you. I feel better now.

^_^

You know, my internet life seems to keep circling around Romantically Apocalyptic. It was first shown to me by a friend a while back and ever since I keep running into various internet pals who either use it for avatars, reference it, or post links in threads like this. Suffice to say, I've had the username (generic though it may be) for a long time prior to the comic.

I do enjoy tormenting Sniper, though.
