Comic for 10 DEC 2012; Bees. Why did it have to be bees.

The real question here is he rendering the swarm as a single multi-object entity, or is each bee an individually rendered entity with its own objects and motions?

As an amateur visual artist I can attest to the 'whole swarm' concept being the less resource-intensive... but Pat does seem more like the 'individual bee' type.

The bees are arranged very regularly, so my first guess is that he's doing the whole swarm as a single entity; though if we see individual bees moving in an interesting way, I might revise that assumption! :)

Maybe (no pun intended) the bees will form up into the shape of something like so:
