Marsupials have rather different dental formulas from mainstream mammals.
This is what a koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) skull looks like.

"Placental mammals" is the usual term.

Welcome, ExTechOp! Nice way to introduce yourself here, showing off a dead koala's head and a factoid.

Not bad at all. Got some wit to go with the knowledge?
It takes an average of forty-three muscles to frown, seventeen muscles to smile...

But only three for proper trigger squeeze.

Unfortunately, if this is a battle of wits, I've come unarmed :durr:

You can retcon this one - Speedy's not a stock koala.

Marsupials tend to have pretty scary teeth. Look at an opossum's mouth some time.

Not so much on the pointy molars though, which speedy in the comic has an abundance of.

I'ma agree with sticking to Otter's standard "he's genetically modified." excuse. I mean, sure you splice in a gene for super intelligence, bu who is to say that's not going to change other things? I'm just wondering about his children.

Lots of people are wondering about his children.

Starting with... what are they up to?

There aren't any yet. But I suspect Speedy would say he was working "long and hard" on that.

He's been out chasing tail all afternoon. Get that Koala a cigarette, gatorade and a bag of frozen peas.

Yeh, there are, remember the news reports of mysterious koala "thefts" in various zoos?

Forgot that, thanks. Were they "thefts" or just odd break ins?

If break ins then the other koalas are still in the zoo and could be raising their joeys there. Queue up mama from planet of the apes.

Pfft! I spell-checked that before posting. Must be an international thing.

(To change or not to change? I don't think I'd start writing "coulor" for Australian speakers either....)

I don't get it. I see that Rachel is diverting Hope's attention at the moment juste, so Pat's secret is safe. But what's the throwaway gag?

That Speedy is being X-Ray'ed by the baggage screener.

I thought it odd he'd go that way but figured it was just for funnsies to draw the skeleton.

I missed it entirely. I was so focused on rachel distracting hope with the mention of Vin Diesel

Well, to me, Bollix and Bollox have different pronunciations, and I certainly (in my aussie accent ;) ) say Bolloxed!

And we were too busy debating the correct spelling of bolloxed, and looking at the jawbones of koalas to even mention how much we all loved speedy in the xray machine!

I've always heard it spelled bollocks, what with the relationship with a bullock and the early ballock dagger. That's the Scottish form of spelling it, as far as I know. The Glaswegian is, "Awayhey, Jimmy! Aw-way-hey-hey-ho....Ho. Geezaritscradeynoo!? Neh? B'licks! Ye gone callyake stripless git ye! Shilpit wee nidderin nyaff! Glaikit sumph! Sling yer hook, ye unsained chocky trapmaw, or ye'll ha' a faceful o' dandru' hey!"

Translation: "I say, sir. Sir, your attention please. Can you spare a match? No? I disbelieve that." The rest I'm afraid is not acceptable for mixed company.
If you can't live without me, why aren't you dead yet?

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

If God wants all the credit, he's getting all the blame.
