Taking a slight intellectual view (if you liked In Our Time):

Humanities:

Thinking Allowed looks at developments in social science.

Start the Week discusses issues (normally by having a mixture of politicians, artists, etc.

Witness presents testamony to historical events (some of the events are of tragedies and atrocities, and some of the events are for lighter things).

The Long View[1] looks at how past events can shed light on present events. You won't find these in the list of episodes because they're too old to be listed but this gives you an idea of what they mean by that:

.

Science and Technology:

Material World gives a round up of the week's science for British audiences.

Quirks and Quarks does the same from a Canadian perspective.

PRI has a couple of podcasts to cover science and technology.

All in the Mind gives an insight into issues in psychology and neuroscience.

{edit}Forgot one:
Spectrum is Deutsche Welle's English language sci/tech magazine. The current presenter used to be a reporter for PRI's Tech podcast.

Media:

The Media Show looks at issues in the media in the UK.

Media Talk is the Guardian's review of the media. It's more chatty and gossipy in style as compared to The Media Show. It's one of my guilty pleasures.

Mediawatch looks at the New Zealand media. It's between Media Talk and The Media Show in style.

I take it that I don't need to post a link to On The Media in this forum? ;-)

Law:

Law in Action looks at issues in law in Britain.

The Law Report looks at issues related to Austalian Law.

I could go on but I'd better stop there.

Remember that Radio 4 programmes may not be available outside of the UK.
