Eh, he's fat by real-person standards. A real plot divergence! In the equivalent old strip, Clarice and Rudy left without knowing Hope had been there. Edited by Minivet, Apr 15 2010, 03:12 PM.

Well, on further consideration (reading the subsequent old comic) I guess they'll just be interrupted in their search midway by the local cops, so as to get back on track, and this change is just gleaning some extra suspense out of the same situation. Now that the "First" button leads to the beginning of the revised strips, I do hope Otter leaves the old ones up for those of us determined enough to manipulate the URL... |

One of the changes in the side redesign is a feature that lets people navigate between new and old strips. |

That's something that I noticed as well. Knowing what we do of the chip, the question arose: How come they didn't find her by using it? Even in the limited versions, they could use it for that much. {edited for grammar} Edited by HiFranc, Apr 16 2010, 07:27 PM.

Where did we learn that? If you mean how they pop up as sprites, I think in the limited version that's just how the person-to-person communications system works, and it doesn't let them stray from the person they're talking to. (I.e., Clarice could forebodingly float around sleeping Pat, because she doesn't need the user's permission to manifest, but she couldn't do the same to Hope who's non-chipped.) |

I refer you to: http://www.agirlandherfed.com/comic/?443 If Dixon could do it then they all could. If they all could read a piece of paper in another location then searching for somebody would be just as easy. |

Ah, of course; forgetful me. In that case, I can think of some reasons they wouldn't do it as part of a search. First, it's no faster than poking around in person (Pat's different, but only because he's fully chipped); second, yes, you can go through doors and peek in enclosed places a bit more easily, but that entails getting rid of physical qualms about going through solid objects which even Pat had trouble with. |

The only ones who liked using it were the sociopaths. That's why they were conditioned, they were terrified of the device activating and not shutting off. Before I get jumped on about them never using it at all, Denial is not just a river in the Spinx. It's also possible that NEVER using it caused the device to activate and/or activate badly. |

However, all of the people used it a lot. We know because the Fed told us: http://agirlandherfed.com/comic/?164 He also told us that the problems happened to everyone in that strip. The explanation of why it didn't effect sociopaths is spread over several strips (and I can't remember where to look for all of them) but here are a few: http://agirlandherfed.com/comic/?168 http://www.agirlandherfed.com/comic/?323 http://www.agirlandherfed.com/comic/?324 http://www.agirlandherfed.com/comic/?569 and the strip I can't find is where someone observes that the Pocket President acts on the conscience and, as a sociopath doesn't have one, the pocket president can't attack them. {edit}Found them: http://agirlandherfed.com/comic/?226 http://agirlandherfed.com/comic/?227 Edited by HiFranc, Apr 18 2010, 08:27 AM.
