From their site:
source: www.onemanga.com Looks like online manga reading is about to come under attack in a serious way from businesses. On one level I understand that a lot of work goes into translating and then publishing and distributing manga, but on the other hand, it's expensive, I've gotten used to reading it for free, I'd rather not be 2-3 years behind the Japanese release if it's a series I'm serious about following and for less money I can read books, which provide more hours of entertainment. Edit: because I don't know how to spell, could someone fix the title of this thread for me please? Edited by mortalone, Jul 24 2010, 06:59 AM.

Too bad for them. I like to keep copies of what I read so I use Mangatraders for direct downloads. Stupid of them to even try to put a stop to it. The internet is too big to control 100%, and so long as it keeps going the way it is there will always be another site or forum or whatever that has this stuff out there to download. |

The torrents will save you! It might be a bit annoying to torrent every chapter of every manga that you're following, but you'll still get your shit for free and without delay. Can't ask for much more. |

Yeah, I know. I used to goto onemanga all the time. But Spanks is right, they shouldn't even bother. There are a lot of other sites that have manga scanlations (mangastream, mangafox, etc). Even if you close them all, more will open up. It's a never ending cycle. But onemanga respected those hard working authors and closed down their site, and if that's what their admins want, then we should let them. Though if I were one of those authors, I would be frustrated too, what, with people scanlating all my hard work and reading them for free when they're my only source of income. Seriously, mangakas have to work HARD to produce those amazing little books. |
