So we had a super prompt leave from our meeting point with a quick 25min drive up to the start point.... This is where the evening started its journey! Gillie leaving lane one with a flat, well more of a side wall slice! Myself rottie grabing the exact same wheel in lane 5 too! So we were two tyres down! The most demanding lane was one that had an overgrown entrance We'll call it the v lane for now!! Because after fighting into the lane it turned into the deepest v ive ever seen! We got about 50mtrs up and paused due to a large tree and the v getting worse, and in I slid.....a nice 45 degree angle and a full reaverse back...took ages as I was sliding along the v...thankfully the rock sliders did there job...and just getting out the last bit and I caught something...theres where my tyre sliced the side wall... Some amazing lanes after, and we declared a finish at 2330hr, we were all hanging.... Gillie suffering from unknown gremlins on the way home, so we stayed together untill the a38 and mikeo was gillies wing man, we nailed it back home as I and rich were working today (sat). Hope hes all cushty. Night lanes.... hard work! Fitting 110watts of reversing lights and 300 watts of fromt spot helped though, but even then the tunnel vision effect is weird...... Would I do it again......OH YES INDEEDIE!! Will report after some sleep..... wicked evening! Pictures.......a bit dark! |

cracking night, side splitting you could say at times. and Gillie also brought the disco lights that were actually in time to the beat from the stereo... or was it in time to the wipers.. not sure to be honest.. it's been a while since ive been night laning and its been a while since ive done a few of those lanes. on the v gully lane i remember it being really tricky before and didnt think it was going to be fun for gillie.. not that anyone was listening to me but rottie soon found out and called for a back out... which was fun in the dark but lucky for us ( gillie and I) we hadnt gone in as far as the washed out gully and by all accounts it was far worse than i recall.. so good call even if it did cost another tyre.. yes gillie lost a tyre at the end of lane 1. pictures and more of a report later... |
