well what can i say the wet weather and high winds had brought down a few trees lane one of the day saw a back out due to a large tree and the fact we couldn't be arsed to clear it. lane two and another tree not so easy to reverse out this time so it had to be cleared, 20ft further and a large stump was in the road followed by a smaller tree at the end of the track, i was covered in mud from head to foot and knackered and ready to go home  couple of people asking what we were doing there under the illusion that any unsurfaced or little used road is a footpath or solely for there own use. too stupid to realise we are keeping these tracks open for all users by clearing the fallen trees or other obstructions maybe we should leave the trees hanging across the track and hope it kills the idiots next time. anyway onward into a few known lanes while heading to runaway lane near modbury and a couple more funny people the jogger said nothing to me but shouted something at nasty... the woman walking the dog tied to tell me the road was not a road.... and that had we not seen the not suitable for vehicle signs at the start.... then once i had explained that away and pointed out the legal meaning of the sign she admitted she knew it was a road... but could we not use it as nasty 4x4's do so much damage and the lane is maintained by local volunteers... no it's a road that has vehicle rights, that is hopefully going to change she went on to say, we are trying to doing something about that... well when it says no vehicles then i'll stop using it i said.. hmm.. well can we not use it anyway was the response.... no its a road... round we went in circles, even i was beging to get pissed off with her. any way onward and a stop in the over flow carpart at modbury for lunch.... the woman walking the dog comes out of the footpath part of runaway lanes and again starts asking if we could not use it.. where's a copper when you want one ffs arrest this woman for harassement on a public right of way please the ( upto ) £1000 fine might shut her up. grit ya teeth and smile boys.... anyway onward through a few more lanes and onto Drunkards hill all the lumps and bumps have gone and a nice new covering of stones has been laid down for most of the hilly part i guess the lower part was getting a bit dangerous for horses still at least it's still open for all now we are heading into the area i wanted to get to a climb up a track we hardly ever do down made for a nice change then onto lanes we dont do very often and the wet weather made the ground very slippery on a couple of tracks and it was looking like the waffle boards might be needed for Andy and I. but no i got up slowly and to our surprise the Maverick was still going forward on well worn AT's i'm sure it's down to the limited slip diff it's unstoppable. so we got in as many lanes as we could until the light began to fail then headed home after a great day sorry no pics forgot the camera

Had a great day & finally looked under the mav , found a broken o/s/r shock absorber plus i also damaged my passenger door mirror. I can weld the shock but good old ebay has come to the rescue of the door mirror . The last time i went out it was new front brakes needed & the time before that was a broken headlight. its all good fun though
