glad you all enjoyed the day turned out to be an easy set of lanes, the more interesting ones we had planned also had VRO's posted from Devon County Council asking that the lanes not be used and repaires and clearing where pending better weather, so we avoided those.

a couple of nice long lanes with a nice steep climb on one lane that had carl's monster truck geting a tad warmer than normal.

a few lanes were blocked with either logs large rocks or on one a tempory barrier, and these i'll endevour to find out what the state of play is if i get time, another of the long ones turned out to have a TRO on it restricting the use to agricultural access only :(

I only managed to get a few pics of the day so i'm glad others took a couple :D i'll try to get my up probably tomorrow morning,

a few lanes where tarmac or mostly tarmac as suspected so at least we know for the next time we explore this area some more

i just remembered falling over into the stingy nettles and my arm going up!! it still hurts now.
the landy was making one hell of a noise on the way home. i think the gearbox is finally on its last legs! :( it is serious job to swap. a full weekends work!! they even recommend that it is easier to remove the engine to get access to it. so do i not worry about it and fix it when it goes, which could be months....or even years! or fix it now? with a secondhand box (around £100) or a new one (more like £500)?

thought it sounded ok earlier today ....

Personally i'd do it as soon as i had another g/box ...otherwise if you leave it ..who knows what else could go
then you'll end up with more work than needed ...

it sounded fine until i got on the A38 and it was really really really loud grinding/whirring noise in 4th and 5th gears only. i actually trned the stereo off as i couldn't hear it! its been like this for a year or so but today it sounded absolutely awful! never heard it so bad! i think your right. i'll try and source a known secondhand box and fit it when i get time.

Hi Mike
Thank you for the tour around exmouth way. Had a great time with perfect weather for it yet again.Only a few mishaps with the locking hubs and driving into the ditch  Not too sure how that happened

Cheers
