Luke wanted a day out in his new Toy ( Big Nasty's old Vitara ) having never drove a 4x4 off tarmac or having ever to put one into 4 wheel drive he wanted to get to know what to do where to do it and reasons why.

so with the D3 recce starting too early for me it was an ideal time to take Luke out into the lanes.

now apart from a couple of mistakes I have to say young Skywalker did well.

valuable lessons were learnt through out the day and highlighted why we harp on about keeping you speed below 15mph (tbh 10mph tends to be ample most of the time) in the lanes several groups of Horse riders were encountered on the route as well as a walkers.

with the horse riders we had to reverse for one group back to a wider part of the lane, but with both groups we pulled over and switched off the engines as it appeared most of the riders in these groups were under instruction.

at least now Luke is happier to go out on the 25th and gain some more experiance with a larger group with out worry of not knowing how to use is 4 wheel drive
