well we did the tor route today and have to say was very dissapointed.
several discrepencies in the route and mainly all tarmac with expeption to a few.
was good to get into another area but i for one will not be going back that way again
:( .. i half expected a speed camera and traffic lights in most of them lol
we finished the day by taking in the panther on way back and a few more around east taphouse .good banter and lots of pisstaking ... :) :) :)

Yea was not what I expected, could have took Kez's 07 plate nissan out today, most of the Byways are Tarmac or very flat hard surfaced.

we even added a few of our own into the route but again i have seen main roads in worse condition than some.

there were a couple of lanes that were more to our taste where the hedges were not so far apart and the ground was a little less maintained, a small sharp ford actually made me go into 4 wheel drive to climb out of it as i had gone in real slow and just couldn't have got out of without spinning the wheels without doing so. so to avoid any damage to the bank 4 wheel drive was needed for the short climb,

some nice scenery and lots of freindly people encountered. lots of the byways in this area are used by lots of cyclists so care needs to be taken if anyone else is going to do this route.

but to ease our sense of disapointment we ended up doing a few well known lanes on the way home one of which was the Panther B)

pics to follow soon

Mate,

When Maf & I first looked at the map we struggled to contain our excitement!! BOATS all over the place leading nicely from one to another....

However I agree the reality is for from exciting!!!

We did manage to find a couple of interesting bits and bobs but again they were not on the TOR Route!!

Nightmare....

Wilky ;)
