Lol Steve, sorry my landy made yours sick. Took a look at mine yesterday, I can't adjust the screw it's rusted solid and you can pull the whole thing off the spindle. Trip to Brookwells then for a new thingy. |

at least it'll be cheap. have you tried gripping the screw hard with some mole grips and trying to undo it? and then replace the screw...may be easier to just buy another one tbh, be a fiver at a guess |

I've found Mailorder 4x4 cheaper than Brookwells for most things but Brookwells carry a huge stock and are very knowledgable. |

small update some of the noises from the poor old vit turned out to be a snapped rear half shaft The rear dif is also not sounding to good, The rear UJ has gone ( the only one not replaced upto now) and a front wheel bearing collapsed and both the front bearings where replaced only 3 - 4 months ago, |

Mike, I've found water crossing wreck bearings real quick, grease washed out... also wrecked the clutch on the Wrangler... Stoopid water... Maf |

that lower boat house crossing is the worst, as you are driveing through salt water mud and sand, the sand perishes the bearing rear seal then allowing the nice salty water to attack the bearings from the back, i have had several 4x4 in lately with the same problem, salt water crossings are not good

Wow, it takes some effort to snap a rear one.. If you need any bits I still have my old vit although its going to the scrapper on monday so you need to be quick.. I also know where there are three pretty new ones being broken locally, one with something like 28k on the clock.. This new government scrappage scheme is proving handy for vit parts..
