Glad you enjoyed the Day was good to finally meet Steve & Ben :D

It's been a long time since freelander1 ( Karen ) has been out with us since the demise of the Freelander, and so finally it was time to test out the defender.

and test it and Karen we did in the first lane of the day, after that most of the lanes were all easy, even if Yoda threw a fit and we covered a few lanes a couple of times in both directions at times as we head to the supposed next lane on the list, but no matter it kept us off the tarmac a bit more and filled out the day a bit more :P

we started from Lower Dean then over to the Rattery Area working our way up through the Bickleigh area lanes, this section was ended with five lanes end going downward, a few of us went up and down it again, ( not me this time as the Vit was making some strange noises, which i think are the rear bearing on the way out so I nursed the Vit round for the rest of the day)

Karen had headed home just before Five Lanes :( you should have done that one Karen as it drops you right down by the A38. but no matter hope you enjoyed the day, and the backs not giving you too much greif?

from here the rest of us head for simms hill and the surrounding lanes, once again the hill was slighty wet and ment the Vit needed a couple of attempts to get to the top, but more noises from the Vit could clearly be heard that will require further investigation, every one else made it look easy and from here we headed home, well I Limped home the noise in the Vit from the suspected bearings was a bit on the loud side to say the least

six cars in total elwyn arrived unexpected but was invited to tag along.
we met up at dean prior taking in several lanes in the area.moving into rattery and buckfastliegh.was good to see a few old faces nick and his maverick ,mister wadey gayboy and steve and his mate.a bit of a plod around but some awesome lanes were had.met a few quad bikes and a landy a few times as well.
karen and her defender got around good for a 1st outing.retiring early with her back problem.old age i think
we finished up at simms hill wich was a bit slippery but all made it up .
we then went home....... the end :D :D :D have a few pics wil post when loaded

VERY big 'thank you' to MikeO for putting today together for me and thanks to the rest of the guys and gals for words of encouragement and thanks to Paul for his patience being stuck behind me driving slowly. I will definately be back for more! I had such a good day with nice people, my back is recovering, I'm ignoring that comment about old age!
The first lane was very much a baptism of fire, I was in low box AND difflock, then found out Paul he did it in 2 wheel drive! Good job Ian was with me to get it in low box, need to practice that in the back lane! After this lane though anything seemed possible. The rest of the drive was fine until the last lane I did, when I had the Landy sideways, didn't enjoy that much!
Thanks Steve for diagnosing the problem with my wipers, I'll be taking a look at that tomorrow, it was getting on my nerves today.
So, when are we going out again?

Cool pictures

think mine might be a bit wide to get through the lane in those first 3 pics you've posted Paul .... i was scraping the sides the last time i did it with my previous set of tyres on ...and the current ones are wider
